One of the things that feels frustrating when you start learning crochet is the magic ring. It is obvious when you see another person making one but when you try somehow you miss a step. Believe me, there is no secret here. You just have to keep repeating it until your brain clicks. Then you will be surprised of how easy it is so is just a classic situation to "Keep calm and carry on".
